Your Social Media Stupidity Can Get You Fired

Companies are checking your social media accounts anymore before, during, and after you work for them, so you may want to rethink posting that outrageously violent or cruel thing you were planning on posting.

(For the record, our podcast is perfectly safe for you to re-post and share)

Take a lesson from these instances though, where people have said or done the wrong thing online and it’s cost them their livelihoods. From the dumb, to the mean, to the outright offensive, Rolling Stone has compiled a list of some of the most audacious things people have done on social media that got them fired.

A Brief History of People Getting Fired for Social Media Stupidity

Music You Can Use

In our latest episode we gave you a rundown of all the music that should be in your ears right now.

First up on the docket was Korn, and their new album The Serenity of Suffering, an album they promised to be a return to their old form. This, their latest called “Take Me”

Following that up, we talked about the new album from Avenged Sevenfold called The Stage, an album the band surprised us all with a little over 2 weeks ago. Make sure to listen to the episode to hear a little something extra, that may be cluing us in on another album coming very shortly.

And finally we delved into a new band called Into the Fire, who released their self-titled album about a month ago. This is the single, “Spit You Out”

New Trailer for Live Action Beauty and the Beast Proves Disney is the Real Monster

You might be asking yourself why Disney feels compelled as of late to make a live action remake of every single last one of their properties? You might wonder why Beauty and the Beast, a beloved classic that continues to be one of Disney’s most popular films and has already been rendered as a Broadway play, needs to be remade yet again?

Well, because everything needs a remake anymore. Also, money.

Here’s the new trailer…

I can’t wait to see how it ends. SPOILER ALERT: It ends the same way. Now fork over your cash.

Beauty and the Beast will be your guest (*honk honk*…get it?) on March 17th.

An Actual Snake on an Actual Plane

Forget Sky Marshals. After this, what we need is a Samuel L. Jackson on every plane.

Passengers aboard Aeromexico Flight 231 were in for quite a surprise this past Sunday when, well, see for yourself…

After they’d had it with that mother****ing snake on that mother***ing plane, they made an emergency landing where the reptile was secured. Not quite as exciting or insane as Snakes on a Plane, but close enough.

A Mysterious “Ping” that is Definitely Not an Alien Distress Signal is Emanating from Deep in the Arctic

Although both The Thing and Alien vs. Predator started with a bunch of misguided humans responding to a signal of unknown origins coming from a cold place, this mysterious “beep” or “hum” is definitely not some kind of crashed alien craft sending out a distress signal and there’s definitely not anything to worry about.

Although now the Canadian Department of National Defence is investigating this strange noise which has scared away all the wildlife usually found in the Fury and Hecla Strait in northernmost Canada, so…maybe it is something.

Just, don’t open anything or set anything free when you find whatever is causing this, okay Canada?

In the New Trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie, Everything is STILL Awesome!

Few movies get absolutely everything right like The LEGO Movie did. Now, Warner Bros. is attempting to get lightning to strike twice with The LEGO Batman Movie, a spin-off film featuring the same LEGO Batman character introduced in the The LEGO Movie.

Although, if these trailers have been any indication, you better get grounded because the lightning is a-comin’!

It’s tough to say what exactly makes this work besides, well, everything. I just hope this isn’t a classic case of the best stuff being put int he trailers.

The LEGO Batman Movie comes out on February 10th, 2017. The perfect Valentine’s Day date!

The New Wonder Woman Trailer is Wondrously Wonderful

Although I’m a staunch defender of the DC Extended Universe movies thus far, I’m in a small minority. However, after the first trailer debuted at Comic Con, and now after this new trailer dropped today, I don’t see anyone with a bad opinion about the upcoming Wonder Woman movie.

It strikes me with a similar vibe as Captain America: The First Avenger, which was awesome in its own right, but this seems to have something extra going on, and I can’t quite pinpoint what it is. In any case, they seem to have gotten Wonder Woman herself exactly right, and the tone definitely feels like more of an uplifting adventure than a dour, existential “murderverse” (as some have called the DC movies up until now).

If anyone can save DC and Warner Bros. from themselves and right the ship while simultaneously winning back the hearts and minds of audiences, it’s the Warrior Princess of the Amazons.

Wonder Woman comes out on June 2nd, 2017.
