Music You Can Use

If you’re an avid listener to the show, it should be no surprise that we love music, and that’s why when we hear something that perks out interests, we want to make sure you know about it.

On the July 6th, 2017 edition of Music You Can Use, we kicked things off in a big way with the new one from the Foo Fighters called “Run”.

The new album, Concrete and Gold, will hit our hands September 15th in what Dave Grohl is proclaiming will be the Sgt Pepper of Foo albums. Pretty high bar to hold yourself too, but if anyone can do it, it’s the Foo Fighters. In addition to that, the band is promising guest appearances, one being from the “Biggest Pop Star in the World now”. Some have speculated it would be Adele, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.

One thing we do know is that one of the tracks will feature a collaboration with Boyz II Men. If that doesn’t make you realize how eclectic this album will be, I’m not sure what will. Now, as a bonus for visiting our site, here’s another new tune from the album the Foo Fighters unleashed on a crowd in Paris called “Dirty Water”.

But we didn’t just talk about the Foo Fighters, we also dove into this band that’s really gaining some steam called Greta Van Fleet. There’s no way your not ready for a party once you listen to this song called “Highway Tune”.

If you’re wondering when the albums coming out, it actually already did back in April, although we’re willing to bet Greta Van Fleet sees a tad more sales now than back a couple months ago.

Following that up, we did some album reviews, starting out with Stone Sour’s very diverse Hydrograd.

Neat story behind the name of this album name, but we’ll let you listen to the episode to hear that (link at the top of this post)

And finally, it was the new disc from Rise Against named Wolves.

So, what are you waiting for?!? Get this music now, so you’ll be the one ahead of the curve.

Your Best Friend May Want to Eat You

(Photo: National Geographic)

We’re gonna call shenanigans on this whole “Man’s Best Friend Nonsense”.

National Geographic did some research, looking over several cases, to find out dogs will go after your body after you’ve passed. in 73 percent of the cases it involved bites to the face, and in 10 percent, it was bites to the abdomen.

What’s even more startling is that in 24 percent of the cases, the dog didn’t even wait 24 hours to start consuming the body.

So, next time your dog is looking all innocent, trying to get some belly rubs, you remember this, and give him or her a stern look in the eye.

Hey Girls, You’re Just as Creepy as Guys

Guys being creeps to girls is an act as old as time, but who would’ve thought girls are just as bad, or maybe even WORSE!

A Reddit thread was made recently discussing the creepiest ways girls have hit on guys. You can hear a bunch of these on our June 8th, 2017 episode, but just to wet your whistle, check out this one from user Sxmanderson:

Run into a girl I knew at the bar, we get to talking. She asks if I’m single these days, I say yeah. She writes her number on a napkin and says, “Call me this weekend.” Then she leans in, whispers: “I’m gonna make you wish you were never born.”

Yeah, it gets that weird. Can you beat it? Email us, and let’s hear those stories.

It Looks Fake, But this Picture is a 100% REAL!

Everybody and their mothers have seen this picture by now, and before someone tells you otherwise, IT’S COMPLETELY REAL!

Theunis Wessels from Three Hills, Alberta, Canada was actually mowing his lawn as this tornado passed through the area, and instead of urging him to come in, his wife just took the pic, and posted it to her Facebook.

The greatest part of this is when asked about it, Theunis said it was fine…because he was keeping an eye on it.

This is the Best Choice for Our Next President

The Rock and Tom Hanks 2020? Might not be a bad plan.

In the season finale of SNL, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took the hosting reigns, announcing in the opening monologue that he’ll indeed be running for president in 2020 with running mate, Tom Hanks.

Now, it’s obvious this is a joke, but lets think about it. The Rock is one of the most popular actors today, and Tom Hanks is, well, Tom Freakin’ Hanks (Yes, that’s his actual middle name). Plus if Trump could do it, why can’t they? One thing is for certain, they have the full support from us here at A Freak Accident.

Chris Cornell Has Died

(Photo: CBS News)

When you think of the best vocalists in rock music, Chris Cornell has to be up in the top 5.

Unfortunately he decided to take his own life after a show in Detroit, which seems a little foretelling now, with his last song being a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “In My Time of Dying”.

Needless to say this is a huge loss to the rock and music world, and we hope Chris Cornell will forever Rock in Peace.
